Lesson Responses

Story 2- Cleaning Lady
Moral: Everyone is equal and matters.
Why: We were given this because, we walk past each other everyday and have different relationships when we really shouldn't and should learn to appreciate one another.
Connection: This connects to me because I walk past people everyday who I do know the names of but, don't make the effort to get to know them when, I really should be because, everyone is equal and matters.
Story 3- Pickup in the Rain
Moral: Always be kind to whoever and wherever because you never know how much they could really need it.
Why: We were given this because we take for granted the effort of being kind to one another.
Connection: This connects to me because, I try to be kind to whoever I meet because I understand how much a simple act of kindness can really mean to someone.

Whoop:/

Hey guys! It's Lindsey, here with another weekly blog. This week was pretty ehh. My period was working Monday, it was electives night and I really wanted to go but, I wasn't feeling up for it. We watched monologues the whole week and I filmed mines and turned it in on friday. Mines was about the timer ileana got milk spilled all over her hehe. We had notebook checks which sucked because, I was missing alot of stuff but, made it all up. Tuesday, we counted the medals.
Wednesday, was progress reports and I did OKAY. We had sba and my head felt TERRIBLE. Thursday, we had a street art club meeting. It was also, my bestfriends 13th birthday:))Whoop, whoop! I also edited some pictures for graduation slides.Friday, was the ice palace field trip but, I didn't go:((( We just played video games and watched movies so, that was fun. I also got to see the little mermaid play:)) I started DYING when I saw some of the characters. Especially, when they used an umbrella as their props, even though it's supposed to be "underwater". lololol.

Highlights and Lowlights. There were many highlights and lowlights that happened this week. One highlight for me was, seeing the little mermaid play. This was a highlights for me because, it was really funny and a nice way to end my week. One lowlight for me was, losing my phone. This was a lowlight for me because, I lost alot of important things on my phone and I don't know when I can get them back.

A lesson I can from this week is, to not ignore your problems. Meaning, don't think they'll just go away, face them. The reason why I choose this to be my lesson for the week is because, I thought it  really connected to what went on this week. If I had not ignored my problem with some drama, it might've been solved. In the future, I will not ignore my problems.

Sis, Woah...

Hey guys! It’s Lindsey, here with another weekly blog! This week was such a roller coaster. Monday, I finished my math quiz, started a poster in ss and filmed an intro monologue for english. Tuesday, I worked on my science project and we worked on making signs for recognition night for the games! Me and a few friends played “Who’s the Most?” or “Who’s Most Likely Too?” and that was really fun. Wednesday, we had the 7-3 march. Lemme js say, it was one of the most embarrassing thing I’ve EVER done at this school. One, my poster SUCKED. My freaking partner BARLEY did ANYTHING and I had to rely on myself to get it all done in such a short time. Two, EVERYONE was looking at us either laughing, video taping or making faces. I hated it so much. I also started this thing where I call boys thicc’ lmao. We also had recognition night. I worked the graffiti wall for the whole time. I worked with chanel for the most time. I’d say it was the best recognition night we’ve ever had! Thursday, we had the picnic and I brought pizza. It was sooo much fun! Friday, we had no school.

Highlights and Lowlights. There were many highlights and lowlights that happened this week. One highlight for me was, the picnic. This was a highlight for me because, I could tell everyone had fun and I felt it was a great way to end the week. One lowlight for me was, the 7-3 march. This was a lowlight for me because, like I’ve mentioned before it was so shameful walking around the school with my poster.

A lesson I can learn from is, fake it till you make it. Meaning, stay strong and know that it’ll all be worth it in the end. The reason why I chose this to be my lesson for the week is because, I thought it really connected to what went on with this week. If I had faked it till I made it, I wouldn’t have been struggling while I was working. In the future, I will learn to fake it till I make it.

Unbelievable.

Hey guys! It’s Lindsey, here with another weekly blog. This week was an interesting and exciting one. Monday, we had our final dress rehearsal for orientation. I was feeling lowkey stressed, because I didn’t have all my outfits ready but, yk I managed. For this whole week, in diva and science we did the same thing which were, taking notes n’ our projects. Turns out, I’m doing good in science and somehow not so great in diva, love thatt:((I also found out my ar, so I started reading. Tuesday, was orientation! Like, I’ve mentioned in previous blogs, yall already know how it went:) I had sba n’ had this project for ss this whole week. Wednesday, we cleaned up the cafe. I also completely 90% of my ar and would’ve finished it all if, I didn’t get the last question wrong:/Thursday, was orientation for parents and more 6th graders(mentioned in previous blogs). I took a math test, which, I still didn’t finish or study for! However, afterschool was really fun. Me, jasmine, ileana and harryzen hung out. Karma hit ileana REAL HARD, when she elbowed me on accident, ifykyk. We talked with the female security guard and turns out she’s super nice! Friday, we cleaned up the cafe, a101 and a102. Mainly, putting things away. I finished sba(finally) and got an OKAY score ig.

Highlights and Lowlights. There were many highlights and lowlight that happened this week. One highlight for me was, having orientation. This was a highlight for me because, after all the preparations we made, it finally came! One lowlight for me was, losing my bike. This was a lowlight for me because, that was one of the only ways I could get to school or go anywhere and now that it’s gone who knows where, I honestly dk what to do.

A lesson I can learn from this week is, keep track of your things. Meaning, know where you put your belongings and don’t lose them. The reason why I choose this to be my lesson for the week is because, I thought it really connected to what went on. If I had kept track of my things, I wouldn’t have lost my planner, bike and almost my dog and lanyard. In the future, I will learn to keep track of my things.

ORIENTATION 2K19

Hey guys! It's Lindsey, here with my 2nd orientation blog. Orientation day 2, went better than the first, in my opinion. The crowd was much more hyped up and seemed more interested. I feel like I did improve with the tour, which was a good thing. Orientation day 3, was interesting. I stayed the entire time and didn’t go hone. As you all know, this was for families. Now, this was sorta different. We did have a lesser crowd than the second but, it was fine. I saw some old friends and helped pass out forms at the entrance. Oh! We also didn’t have to worry about tour, which was kinda sad butc kinda good. And that last dance we all together? Memorable. Anyways, overall I’m just in shock. As a matter of fact, orientation was where it all started for me. If I hadn’t came to that last orientation as a clueless 6th grader, I wouldn’t be here, writing this right now. After months of preparation and practicing, it’s hard to believe it’s over. Like, I’ve mentioned in my previous blog, speaking and slides went smooth in my opinion. I mean, everyone sounded really clear and everyone completed the slides. The tours went OKAY. There were a few mistakes but, I think the kids got the overall message. Fashion show, was just super fun. At first, myself and others needed more energy but, we pulled through. Cleaning and setting up had a fee crashes, ifykyk. To wrap things up, these three events were just unforgettable and I really loved being apart of it:)

Highlights and Lowlights. There were many highlights and lowlights throughout these days. One highlight for me was, the fashion show! This was a highlight for me because, I had a great time dancing with everyone and being a choreographer. One lowlight for me was, not changing quickly enough. This was a lowlight for me because, we had very limited time to spend changing and it delayed the whole show.

A lesson I can learn from this experience is, don’t waste time. Meaning, use time wisely and think about who’s time your actually using. The reason why I choose this to be my lesson for the week is because, I thought it really connected with what went on. If I had not wasted time, the show could’ve ran quicker and the 6th graders wouldn’t have been waiting for a while. In the future, I won’t waste time.

GLO’S:

GLO #4, Quality Producer; I showed this glo by, giving my best knowledge and performance I could’ve to orientation.
GLO #5, Effective Communicator; I showed this glo by, talking to others when they had questions on certain aspects of the show, like the tour or what we needed to wear for what.
GLO #6, Effective and Ethical User of Technology; I showed this glo by, completing my slides and fixing mistakes.

Orientation, Day 1!

Hey guys! It's Lindsey, here with my 1st orientation blog. Today wasn't really the best day but, not the worst. Meaning, I thought today would've been worse but, it wasn't. We started off the day by setting up and it was lowkey stressful because some people(including me) forgot some things in the room. We practiced one last time and before you know it, we were all racing outside to greet pohakea and ewa elementary. I saw alot of familiar faces and got alot of hi's. We started off with mikka welcoming and doing introductions. Then, tristiny with programs, then raquel with uplink, then chanel with isa, then shanel with clubs etc. yk js like how we all rehearsed. As they were speaking the rest of us got changed into our tour clothes. Once we had the tour, it was sorta iffy. Since the cafe wasn’t full we all shared tables. Me and mikka had a group from pohakea and I honestly think I did mediocre. I forgot to mention a few things and I didn’t keep track of the 6th graders in the back. However, I think my volume really improved, which is pretty good ig. Once we got back from tours, we all immediately changed into our fashion show clothes. Before fashion show, was bell schedule and I was 5! We then, had fashion show. I need to work on my energy but, I honestly had fun time up on stage. Once we wrapped things up with that,  mjay talked about communications, ahled talked about fee payment and mikka wrapped things up. Mr. Ing also came up on stage to address a few more thing. As we finished, we all raced to door again to say thank you for coming n’ all that. We cleaned up everything and I helped by rolling, carrying and putting away a few cords. Oh, I also lost my I.D. with my keys and I was looking ALL day for them but, luckily I found them hehe.

Highlights and Lowlights. There were many highlights and lowlights for today. One highlight today was, fashion show. This was a highlight for me because, I found it the most exciting part of orientation since, we got to dance to such a nice theme and choreography taught by myself, ahled, jasmine and amber. One lowlight for me was, tour. This was a lowlight for me because, like I’ve mentioned before I thought I could’ve done better with remembering little things and being more responsible with the 6th graders.

A lesson I can learn for today is, be more SELFLESS. Meaning, don’t be selfish and have empathy. The reason why I choose this to be my lesson for the week is because, I thought it really matched with what went on today. If I had been more selfless, the 6th graders would’ve had a better tour and understanding of the school at the moment. In the future, I will learn to be more selfless.

Overall, I would say our 1st orientation went alright! Meaning, we all did okay however, we all need to fix little mistakes. Things such as noise volume in the dressing room, changing quicker, etc. I could tell the 6th graders didn’t seem as interested as I thought they would be but, yk it’s whatever. I’m just gonna say, watching and performing are two VERY DIFFERENT things. Honestly, I much rather enjoyed performing instead of watching because, I get to be apart of helping out students! Anyways, I’m super excited and frankly a little scared for next orientation but until then, SEE YA SOON:))

Yikes!

Hey guys! It’s Lindsey, here with another weekly blog. Honestly, this week was not as bad as I would thought it would be. Monday, was the first official day non-officers were working, since officers were passing out class day, banquet and graduation forms! I’m working with bethany for the whole week and this day we had T.V. and it was lowkey stressful. I was getting super worried that things wouldn’t be ready on time but, we managed and did pretty good. Oh, we also had orientation practice this whole week and considering it’s NEXT WEEK AHHH! Honestly, I’m really excited n’ yeahh. We also got report cards, yikes.Tuesday, was a really horrible day in general(ifykyk) We were also working music that day.We also had a quiz on the 10 stop tour but, we all didn’t do so good but, I found out later we had another on Thursday. I ended my day at travel media. Wednesday, was honestly a fun day. Everyone was spamming my phone in both ss n’ math. I also found out, my teacher has BAD smelling fingers, (ifykyk) LOL. After I finished intro, me and ileana practiced and studied for the 10 stop tour around the school. We also had I.D’s. Thursday, we had the 10 stop tour quiz(again). I honestly thought I did bad for one stop but, I think I did okay on the rest. We also worked T.V. I also planned out all my outfits for orientation. Friday, we had dress rehearsal afterschool. We also worked music. During advisory, non-officers had a meeting about jobs talking about how, we need to do improve which, was kinda true:(

Highlights and Lowlights. There were many highlights and lowlights that happened this week. One highlight for me was, math. This was a highlight for me because, despite everything going on, my group in math made me laugh n’ smile throughout everything:)One lowlight for me was, orientation practices. This was a lowlight for me because, I’ve had a few slip ups here n’ there with stuff like timing and directions and that cannot happen during the actual orientation.

A lesson I’ve learned this week was, to be committed. Meaning, do whatever you can to fulfill whatever it is you have to do. The reason why I choose this to be my lesson for the week is because, I thought it really matched with what went on. If I had been more committed, I could’ve found a way to get to school more early to start jobs. In the future, I will be more committed.
